QS-SPREAD FACTUAL TO THE WORLD

THE 300 WORDS ABSTRACT
One of the roles of a quantity surveyor to manage the cost relating to a construction project . This may include the new build, renovation and maintenance work. A document tender about the calculation of the material, costing and others made by quantiy surveyor must be accurate and reliable according to the provision in Law Of Construction. QS should be make sure that the process of construction is continue if any situation is happen like the price of material increase during the period. This is one of the term underlie to become a QS.

THE 1500 WORDS
One of the roles of a quantity surveyor is to estimating, control and manage the costing of a construction project. This would include the new builds, renovations or maintenance work. From easily design costs to final figures, quantity surveyor seek to minimize the cost of the project and enhance value of money whilst ensuring that the project meets all legal quantity assurance requirement. The document tender involving the expense should be reliable and trustworthy according to the provision in the Law Of Construction. Trustworthy, honest and have good communication as well as presentation skill is the basis principle should be underlie for a QS. Quantity surveyor also council the project director, owner and contractor on cost and budget to keep the pricing as well as the time frames, reasonable for all parties involved . They ensure all the work is complete within the building standard . Apart from that , quantity surveyor’s duties related to the costing typically include conducting feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour cost. Secondly preparing negotiating and analyzing cost for tender and contract and also valuing complete work and arrangement payment. Other than that, quantity surveyor require to familiar with specific for buildings, health concern and safety regulation. This person is also very thorough, pay attention in detail and quick problem solver. A quantity surveyor should has the ability to find the solution to overcome the consequent carved by the increase of price of the materials during the construction work progressing. Overall, the truth must be exerted by a QS as this is a very sensitive issue in the aspect of economic, politic and social. In this era, the world is full of the falsehood, some of the peoples are willing betray their own principle in order to take their own advantage because the insatiable attitude. I think this is easily happen among the firm related with construction . Corruption, cheated happen will bring a big consequences to the social for example building collapse that would sacrifice thousands of human life and properties. Hence, the mind shift should be emphasized to rectify the work ethic of quantity surveyor.

FINAL PROJECT- 10B EXBIT .THE DYMAXION

The original apperance of the dymaxion before shaped. There is a brown colour adhesive tape at the centre is use to combine 2 cupboard to make it larger so it is fit to the size.Before this, I have to draw out the shape that need to cut first.
Start to fold it follow the line, make it solid.
Its shape almost come out. I glue all the sides of the cupboard and link them with thear "partners" marked .
All photo taken during the assignment we done the semester was pasted on it .All of them is the best memories at USM because there are the effort I spend with my friend !

Assignment 8- BIG

4 oct 2010 9.00 am ,we all hbp student was attended the event of ALL-USM BIG APEX LEAP DISCUSSION ,all of us attends the confference and En Wan B give us a great briefing in that event. Some of the idea was also shared together between lecture and all the audience.
This is some roughly message bring out from BIG .

USM BIG (Bamboo Interest Group) is one of the collective efforts to realize USM’s Vision of Transforming Higher Education for a Sustainable Tomorrow.

BIG brings together those who are keen on, want to and/or working in/on bamboo to work out the ways and means to carry out, execute the Accelerated Program for Excellence (APEX) which requires all its citizens to make the Leap to 2012 now and gradually deliver the product through 2013.



BIG wishes to remind itself and all the USM citizen to fulfill the seven APEX points

Actually the BAMBOO fit the first 6 points but the seventh point is up to us.

Bamboo as a strongest structure and a better choice to build that eco-friendly future on. This is the new way to work with rather than against Mother Earth.





Uniqueness


Bamboo has its special characteristic such as incredible strength, regenerative properties, and its natural aesthetic beauty . It has thousands of uses also.



Sustainability

Bamboo might be the most sustainable resourses in this world. It does not require replanting after harvesting.



Humane

INBAR and TRIBAC started to generate sustainable income in rural areas, where no such avenues were available. Not only solve acquire a better life for themselves but also helped other women along the pathway out of poverty.



Universal

Bamboo has been used as the standard building material for the majority of the world for thousands of years. It survived the atomic bomb at Hiroshima and provided the first re-greening after the blast in 1945.



Change

if bamboo were planted on a mass basis it could completely reverse the effects of global warming in just six years, and provide a renewable source of food, building material, and erosion prevention.



Sacrificed

making a leap to 2012, what can we do?

The first thing is, we should understand 2012. Hence we should emphasis and action on 3p- principle (natural law), people(all human) and place(our one earth). If 5% of USM community understand the above 3p paradigm and work on it, then delivering the seed of a higher education, can be made real tomorrow. This is the reason why all citizen must understand the whole programme so they can act in their specialization to fit with the requirement of university and the world today and tomorrow. Conclusion, Bamboo is a sustainbility material and even hard from steel, it represents the effort of the USM as APEX university to achieve the motivation-TRANSFORMING HIGHER EDUCATION FOR A SUSTAINANBLE TOMORROW

Looking Forward & Looking Back

LOOKING BACKWARD



Memories of the first day i come to USM, it is still memorable in my mind.



My family acccompanied me come here by car. We spend about 8 hours in the journey, it was almost half of a day to reached here.We departed from my house at Johor at night so reached here already morning. Since there was still early from the time of register, so we decided to visit around Pulau Pinang. After that my parent bring me went to USM to register and then i got my key and small kit like small note book and pencil. Finally I found my room at TEKUN and met my roomate. After the first day in USM, there was an orientation week launch by PPSL.



I remember during orientetion, It was very tired and exshauted because we had to walked for a long distance and the wheater so hot.We also have a lot of Talks by lecturers of USM. It was very sleepy and i saw a lot student taking nap at their seat, me also. At the start I felt can adapt and tough with my new lifes but my problem cured as time going on. I also meet a lots of new friend in USM. I think it was a good harvest during that week.



First time went to studio, i totally not understand what the lecture talking about in front of lecture hall and also blur and anxiety when the first assignment come to us.But finally i can complete my assignment in time.





LOOKING FORWARD

In the future, I cannot forecast what will happen to me , maybe I will become a sucessful and rich woman in career and marriage, or i will become a failure or others. Although the future cannot predicted, but our future life is inside our hand and we are given chances to decide what we can do in our future.

Now as a student, i am responsible in study, social responsibility and others. I will make sure that i will finish my degree in university and after that i will contribute myself in social.

Other than this, i will also take my responsible as a daughter. I will give my parents a good life as a repay for their effort to bring up me .

In the future, I may have my own family. I wish I can become a woman that can achieve an equilibrium between career and family.

Their grave are in diffrent size, shape and design. These is used to differentiate their gender, status and others.








This is my monumen. My idea to deign it is come from the chinese handed fan because it represent the Chinese culture and tradisional.It is important that we should not forget our root as a chinese.

Survival Kit On IBU

This is my design of my survival kit on IBU.
I choose 2 of inventions from Galeri Penyelidikan USM 1n 2006 and 2007, ie Based Copper Detection Kit in Freshwater Environment, 2006 and Haruan Spray For Burn and Wound,2007.

The first thing I will put into my design is this HARUAN SPRAY FOR BURN AND WOUND . I think this is very important when something is happen that cause injury when disaster happen.

This invention contain Aerosol and Haruan( Canna Stratus) that can treat wound and accelerate wound healling. It can save live from being die due infection.

Another invention that I choose to insert into my survival kit is the RNA EnviroCopp : A Novel Molecular -Based Copper Detection Kit. Its function is to detect detect the presence of copper at a very low level in the freshwater environment. Copper is the one of the most dangerous form of contaimination in freshwater. Human lives will be threatened if this containminated water is consume. Hence, during disaster the quality of water we consume should be emphasised.

My survival kit is look like a beg that can put many thing inside it .

Not only those invention i put into my beg, other things like foood, medicine, sleeping bag, inflatable life jacket torchlight also in it. These are the tools needed when disaster happen, so we can use them to save ourself.

This survival kit is easily carried by man because its functions like a normal bag.

When we reach IBU by PONDOK, the Copper Detection kit can be apply when the drinking water source scarced and we need to obtain water from sea or river. We must make sure that the water is safety to consume in order no health problem happen like diarrhea.

Another invention, Haruan Spray play it's roles when injury happen during disaster. Accident easily occur in chaos because of the anxiety of people. Hence we can prevent the disease outbreak among occupants on IBU.

Project 3C - 6 Balloon Black Box

These are the material i use to make a bamboo box , thin bamboo, some satay stick, old newspaper and others tools needed.

starting to make my box...I think the most important part to make a box and make it stable is the JOINT between their end. I have to use the gummed tape and then the white rope also, tied it very tightly.

The satay stick can make the edge more stable.

I have done the internal framework of my box.

It is in a 'tent' shape.

This is my failure first balloon "grey" box

it is easily collapse and ugly......so i bear in mind and consider.....i decide to build a new one !!

Finally, i finish and suceed to make it . This is the better than before. I am also wan to thank my roomate because she helping me a lot and give the correct way to me when i redo the box.

Assignment 2B - Bamboo Dome

Me and my group members, zishan and Xin Yu.

Today is have a nice wheather for me and my friends, so we decide go to the jungle beside the RST to get the bamboo.

We bring our tools : saw, axe, knife and our ENERGY.

Our journey is started.

After we cut down the bamboo, we hav to use the saw to cut it to make it shorter and easier to carry.

We move the bamboo together , some of it is too heavy.



Finally, we attain our product after work hard and overcoming the challenge we faced when we work.
